3 community organizations – 3 Good Deeds in One Day!
Wellbeingr, in collaboration with The Loukoumi Make a Difference Foundation, and with the support of the American Women’s Organization of Greece (AWOG), brought the Good Deed Bus to Athens for the second year in a row.
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, more than twenty children, teens, and adults had the unique opportunity to hop on the Loukoumi Good Deed Bus for a special journey with three stops of inspiration, giving, and empathy.
→ 1st Stop: Attica Botanical Park, Koropi
At the first stop, participants visited the Attica Botanical Park, where they were guided by representatives of the organization and learned about the park’s important environmental work.
Through a hands-on, experiential approach, the children and young people:
♠ Activated their environmental awareness
♠ Understood the harmonious relationship between humans and nature
♠ Were introduced to the complexity of ecosystems
♠ Learned practical ways to contribute daily to the planet’s sustainability
→ 2nd Stop: Donkey Land
The next stop was at Gaïdourohora, a model sanctuary for the care and protection of donkeys. There, the participants met 24 wonderful donkeys housed in the facility — they learned about their lives, behavior, and emotions, and took part in a unique interactive caregiving experience.
Through this experience:
♠ Empathy and respect for the animal kingdom were nurtured
♠ Positive emotions were created through contact with the animals
♠ Connection with nature and animals was strengthened as a means of emotional well-being
→ 3rd Stop: The Apivita Experience Store
The third and final stop was the Apivita Experience Store, where, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the children took part in AWOG’s Heart Pillow Party.
Through a creative crafting activity, they made pillows of love and comfort, which will be donated to women battling breast cancer — a deeply symbolic and genuinely impactful act of support.
🌍 Global Online Meeting – Experiences Without Borders
The day concluded with a global online meeting, as part of Make A Difference with Loukoumi Day 2025, where participants shared their experiences and feelings with children from other countries and continents.
A beautiful, multi-dimensional, and holistic experiential journey that sparked deeply positive emotions such as joy, peace, fulfillment, self-satisfaction, and self-esteem — the kind that arise when we take actions that support the environment and empower vulnerable communities.
Thank you to everyone who once again joined us on the Good Deed Bus!
