Wellbeingr, as the representative in Greece of the international initiative The Mindfulness Initiative, participated with a presentation - for the first time - in the international meeting held on April 28 and 29, 2025. These meetings, which take place twice a year, bring together representatives from around the world with the aim of exchanging knowledge, information, and practices related to mindfulness, awareness, and their role in political and social transformation.
Isabelle Razi, co-founder of Wellbeingr, presented on the topic: “Mindfulness & Ancient Greek Philosophy: Timeless Wisdom for Conscious Life,” highlighting the deep roots of mindfulness in ancient Greek philosophy. The presentation explored how Greek philosophers — from Socrates to Epictetus — approached self-awareness, presence in the moment, and meaningful living, and how their timeless ideologies and philosophical positions can enrich modern mindfulness practices and help cultivate a more conscious and balanced life.
“Mindfulness, often linked with Eastern philosophies, has deep roots in ancient Greek thought. Greek philosophers extensively explored self-awareness, presence, and the pursuit of purposeful living. By revisiting their insights, we can see how their timeless wisdom aligns with and enriches our contemporary understanding of mindfulness.”
The initiative, The Mindfulness Initiative, is a pioneering international platform that promotes the adoption of mindfulness and contemplative practices in decision-making and policy development. At the same time, through research, dialogue, and interventions, it advances the understanding of how awareness, compassion, and mental resilience can transform public life at all levels.
