Wellbeingr AMKE and The Loukoumi Make a Difference Foundation brought the Good Deed Bus to Athens!

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, twenty-five children and young people had the unique opportunity to board the Loukoumi Good Deed Bus, visit three social institutions, learn about their missions, and offer their services.

The three stops of the bus were:

• National Garden of Athens: Representatives from the Garden provided information about the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ways to contribute holistically to environmental protection.
• Social Grocery at the City of Athens' Reception and Solidarity Center (KYADA): Participants toured the Social Grocery and then distributed collected food items to homeless individuals.
• Socrates Shelter for Stray Animals of the City of Athens: There was a tour of the facilities, information about the Shelter's work, and delivery of food for the animals collected from donations.

The children and young people involved learned about the missions of these organizations and how they can contribute to their efforts. They also experienced the emotions that arise from acts of generosity, such as joy, euphoria, peace, fulfillment, and satisfaction.

It is worth noting that these activities foster valuable skills such as empathy, goal-setting, social skills, self-confidence, and stress management.

The following day, October 10, the results were presented by the children and organizers at the 3rd Wellbeingr Forum, held at the Zappeion Hall.
