For corporations & organizations
It is a fact that the technological achievements of the last decades have contributed decisively to the improvement of people's living standards and the wellbeing and development of society in general.
While transiting to a prosperous society, businesses and organizations play a vital role in the transition to a wellbeing economy since they are a vehicle to enhance employees’ creativity and innovation. These benefits and their positive impact on society, in general, are scaled up when partnerships are pursued with governments and Civil Society.
Besides, the work sector constitutes a priority for Wellbeingr for the following reasons:
• Employees spend 1/3 of their day at work, significantly impacting their mental and physical health and well-being.
• At a global level, one out of six workers has a mental disorder.
• One out of four children or teenagers are recognized to have some mental health problems.
• Twelve billion working hours are lost annually due to depression and anxiety.
• If no measures are taken to improve mental, the cost has been estimated to equal USD 1 trillion.
Both Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of Greece, and the representative of the International Labor Organization, Manal Azzi, Team Lead Occupational Safety and Health, ILO International Labor Organization referred to all above in their speeches at our conference, 1st Wellbeing Forum held at Zappeio Megaro (October 10, 2022). (see video 08.54'.00'' and 04.15'.10',' respectively).
In recent years, employment has undergone significant changes - culminating in those related to the Covid19 pandemic – dictating the implementation and adoption of hybrid work models and also facilitating the full usage of new technologies. In this context, companies are faced with unprecedented challenges dictating the implementation of new strategies, focusing on the employee (human), the quality of his work experience, his mental health, his satisfaction at work, and the satisfaction of his needs and values - beyond finances.
Research on mental health and well-being of employees mandates corporations to take measures in favor of employees’ mental health (compassionate and inclusive leadership), since it is proved that such measures not only contribute to the improvement of the employee's health but also increase productivity in general.
