Wellbeingr and The Loukoumi Make a Difference Foundation are bringing the Good Deed Bus to Athens for the third consecutive year, inviting children and young people on a special journey of giving, connection and care.
On Saturday, 21 November 2026, participants will board the Loukoumi Good Deed Bus in central Athens to visit three organisations and take part in hands-on activities that support others. Through helping people and caring for animals, they will experience the joy of contributing and making meaningful connections, while developing valuable life skills such as empathy, teamwork and responsibility, alongside a spirit of volunteering.
After the children and their accompanying adults gather at the meeting point in central Athens, the bus will take them to the first stop, Hellenic Volunteer Support, Elelthsy. There, they will help pack and distribute food to people in need. Through this practical act of solidarity, the children will discover how a simple act of kindness can make a difference in someone’s daily life.
The bus will then head to the second stop, the Athens Nursing Home, where the children will meet its residents and their carers. Over a snack and a warm drink, younger and older participants will have the opportunity to talk, share stories and experiences, and enjoy time together. This meeting between generations will highlight the value of companionship, listening and making time for one another.
Finally, the children will travel to the third and final stop, Help Horses Ymittos, for an educational visit lasting approximately one hour. Through an interactive presentation, a representative will introduce the organisation’s work, the stories of the horses in its care and their daily needs. This experience will help children understand the importance of respect, responsibility and compassionate animal care, encouraging greater awareness of animal welfare. Those who wish can also support Help Horses Ymittos by donating supplies and equipment for the daily care of its nearly 100 horses.
